Several years ago I bought a sewing machine with great intentions however apart from attempting to try it out when I first brought it home from the shop it remained locked away in a cupboard because I lacked confidence & the basic knowledge I needed to use it.

Fast forward three years & I enrolled on a course with Donna to see if she could help me find my way around my machine.  She started right at the beginning explaining the workings of each dial & button showing me the correct way to thread the machine & how to avoid getting my sewing in a tangle.

She was so patient & told me many things that the handbook did not & could not mention.  She guided me through making a few simple items to build my confidence & as this was on a one-to-one basis I could ask as many questions as I needed.  I have booked my next class & am really looking forward to expanding my knowledge & making some more lovely items.

I have been doing one on one sewing lessons with Donna for quite a while now. My experiences of having a lesson with her are always fun and boost my confidence and skill. She’s the kind of person who will let you do it first, and then you can ask her once you’re getting stuck. She always is the one who loves to work the project together, come with great skills, many years of experience and excellent knowledge of sewing

I had never used a machine before attending Donnas’ course. Donna was extremely friendly and approachable and she gave very clear instructions on what to do and was extremely patient when dealing with a total novice who could not even thread a normal needle She made the whole experience informative and fun.

I was very proud of my finished item. And I am sure she will have no trouble in expanding her classes and making every single one an enjoyable experience for all who attend.

Donna is an amazing teacher, she’s very patient and willing to show or talk you through any parts that you may have an issue with. The course is well worth the time and money and will give you a good understanding of the basics of using a sewing machine and cutting a basic pattern. In addition to the above, you get to come away with something you’ve made yourself that looks phenomenal!

We had a thoroughly enjoyable session with Donna who was patient and very good at explaining each step of the process.

My daughter and I went away with a sense of achievement with the cushions that we had produced, would definitely recommend Donna and will be going back for further lessons in the future!

I was very apprehensive as I had not used a sewing machine since my teens and my confidence is non-existent re technology. I needn’t have worried, Donna was very supportive, understanding and patient with me. A wonderful selection of fabrics were provided along with comfortable surroundings in which to relax and learn. Not only did I succeed in creating some wonderful items I gained the confidence to start a sewing project at home which has lain dormant for some time. Thank you, Donna.

I recently had a beginner’s sewing lesson with Donna. Now to be clear, I have zero experience with any sewing outside cross stitch so I was fairly nervous, completely out of my depth, and nearly called the whole thing off purely out of social anxiety.

There was absolutely no reason to worry! Donna is one of the loveliest people I have ever had the pleasure of meeting, she was so incredibly patient and taught me loads of neat tricks on how to set up a sewing machine which I have now been able to apply to my own machine at home, even though it is different from the one I used in the lesson.

Donna was a pleasure to learn from, a joy to talk to and so so so approachable that after five minutes in I didn’t feel awkward or shy at all.
I cannot wait for my next lesson!
